Molly Bent Landscaping

Making Molly’s Memories.

Molly Bent is a beautiful six-year-old girl from Manchester who suffers from the genetic degenerative eye disease, retinitis pigmentosa, a condition which causes severe vision impairment until blindness and unfortunately carries no cure at present.

Molly’s profile has rocketed over the last six months when she created a bucket list of places to see before her vision fades. People all over the UK have made donations and contributed messages of good will which will give Molly’s family a huge emotional push.

With this condition in the early stages Molly’s parents Chris and Eve wanted to start preparing for the future so that Molly can still enjoy growing up in a safe and loving environment.

It was a few months ago when Pride Home Services were contacted by Molly’s parents and asked about an area created specifically for Molly that caters for her condition and allows her to enjoy playing outside like any other child.

As it stood, the garden was in quite a state and required a lot of work before the area could be declared ‘child safe’.

The project took just over three weeks to complete and consisted of the below;

  • Timber treated decking
  • Raised planters / bedding
  • Artificial turf
  • Balustrading / Rails
  • Paved walkway
  • Railway sleepers
  • Fencing panels

Molly’s garden used to be a overgrown grassy hub of weeds, broken fence panels, cracked paving slabs, uneven surfaces and exposed brickwork surfaces from a deteriorated wall.

What we are left with now is a truly stunning garden consisting of a tiered decking area, perfect for bbqs and to watch over the children as they play on the middle tier: an area set up with artificial turf, raised plant beds / railway sleepers and fence panels so that Molly can feel her way round and hand rails which allows for a safe guided trip up the steps from ground tier.
